The New Olympus High

Let's just say I won't be changing careers anytime soon. I don't think the hardhat suits me. :)
This week, we got the chance to tour the construction site for the new Olympus High. The building is moving along unbelievably quickly because the winter has been so mild. It was a very nice day for the tour, but after the damp weather of the past few weeks, it was a muddy mess. Thanks to Stacey Oppermann for suggesting rain boots.

Stacey (R) wins the award for muddiest rain boot!

The school is going to be so, so, so, so, so amazing! We are going from a 240,000 square foot building to a 400,000 square foot building. We are going to have AIR CONDITIONING! And OUTLETS! What a life. :) The layout of the school is going to be ideal--all of the elective/FACS classes are on the bottom floor with the core classes on the second and third (yes, third...it's going up one more story than the old building) where it will be quiet and won't have the noise and distraction.

Check out this amazing picture. The southeast corner of the new building is going to be a gigantic commons area with huge windows. It seems like the whole school was built just for this view.
